Chuke Intelligent's Pulsed Laser Cleaning Technology Solves Cleaning Challenges for New Energy Vehicle Battery Trays

On November 5, 2025, Chongqing Chuke Intelligent Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. welcomed a customer from the new energy vehicle industry. Their aluminum lithium battery tray bottom shell sample underwent Laser Cleaning technology testing at the factory. Using Chuke Intelligent's independently developed 3000W continuous fiber Laser Cleaning Machine, the 20μm thick anodized layer on the sample surface was precisely peeled off, reducing contact resistance by 32% and surface temperature by 18℃ compared to traditional processes. This provides crucial technical support for the reliability and safety of new energy vehicle power batteries.

The aluminum tray bottom shell tested is a core load-bearing component of new energy vehicle battery packs. While its anodized layer improves corrosion resistance, it significantly increases conductivity, leading to higher battery module operating temperatures. Traditional chemical pickling easily corrodes the substrate, while mechanical grinding damages surface smoothness. Chuke Intelligent's laser cleaning technology, however, achieves instantaneous vaporization and peeling of the oxide layer within milliseconds through a "photo-thermal" coupling reaction between a 1064nm wavelength laser beam and the oxide layer.
Test data shows that when the equipment processes at 2000W power and a scanning speed of 50mm/s, the single cleaning area reaches 0.5 square meters, the oxide layer removal rate reaches 99.8%, and the surface roughness Ra value is optimized from 3.2μm after acid washing to 0.8μm, meeting the Class A requirements of the international power battery standard ISO 12476:2025. More importantly, the surface hardness of the substrate does not decrease after laser cleaning, avoiding the softening problem of aluminum alloys caused by traditional processes.
Comparative tests provided by the customer show that the contact resistance between the tray bottom shell and the battery module after using Chuke Intelligent Laser Cleaning decreased from 0.12mΩ after acid washing to 0.08mΩ, a reduction of 33%. In simulated high-temperature conditions, the surface temperature of the tray after laser cleaning is 15-20℃ lower than that after acid washing, effectively extending the battery pack's lifespan.
“Residual oxide layer is a common problem in the industry,” the customer's technical director pointed out. “Previously, we used a pickling + sandblasting process, but the waste liquid treatment cost was as high as 28,000 yuan per ton, and the cleaning consistency was only 75%. Chuke Intelligent's solution reduces waste liquid generation to zero, improves cleaning consistency to 98%, and can reduce hazardous waste treatment costs by more than 500,000 yuan per unit per year.”

The 3000W continuous laser Cleaning Machine tested by Chuke Intelligent has passed German TüV certification and EU CE certification. Its modular design supports quick replacement of cleaning heads with different focal lengths, and can be adapted to workpieces of all sizes, from mobile phone battery cases to wind turbine gearboxes. The equipment's AI vision positioning system can identify surface defects as small as 0.1mm in real time and control the heat-affected zone within 0.05mm through a closed-loop temperature control algorithm.
“We are developing an integrated production line combining laser cleaning and online inspection,” revealed the R&D director of Chuke Intelligent. This system will integrate laser cleaning, 3D contour detection, and resistance testing modules, achieving full automation from cleaning to quality inspection. It is expected to be applied to the battery pack production line of a leading new energy vehicle manufacturer in 2026, increasing single-line capacity by 40%.

“Laser cleaning is not just a cleaning tool, but also a ‘digital eye’ for quality control,” said Xiao Renmin, Chairman of Chuke Intelligent. The company is developing ultrafast laser cleaning technology, aiming to improve oxide layer removal precision to the nanometer level. “In the future, the cleaning data of each battery tray will be uploaded to the cloud, providing underlying support for full lifecycle traceability.”
